“I overcame my hard time and homesickness !”
Hi my name is *lin Kim. I want to talk about my experience in the U.S.
I live in Lamesa Texas and Abilene Texas. When I came to Texas, I got homesick for 3months and I had some problems with my host family. So my mind was terrible and it was hard to keep a good relationship with my host family. So I changed my host family. Actually, I didn't get to listen to what my friends said to me. Before I went to America my seniors said to me when you arrive in the U.S, you have to take the time to listen. I have a lot in the U.S. When you say hello to friends, they respond well to you and you have to say something and start the conversation with your friends. In my case, I start a conversation and I make an effort to make friends.
I asked them about K-pop, but they didn't know so I informed K-pop to them. They interested about the K-pop, some friends fall in the K-pop so I usually talked with my friends. I studied hard, so I never fail in school. I have a good relationship with teachers. I went to Arizona for a trip and saw amazing canyons. I went to several places for a trip but Arizona is the best for me. I spent Christmas day with my host family. Most houses have Christmas decorations on their house. I helped my host parents to decorate it.
My exchange life is a good memory to me. I overcame my hard time and homesickness. So, I learn how to overcome my situations through exchange students. I want to say one sentence that is when you go to Roma, follow the Roma’s law. Remind this sentence in your heart. You have to adapt to their culture and lifestyle. And everything is important but the most important thing is to thank people who help you and support you. In American you can show your appreciation to your host family.
Appreciate your family, the family supports you guys, not your friends or whoever.
I want you guys to be brave, humble, and courageous.
